Waikato-Maniapoto, Ngaati Awa
Ashleigh has a Bachelor of Laws/Management (First Class Honours) and has previously worked for Tainui Group Holdings, Te Waananga o Aotearoa and the Hamilton Law Centre. She has been involved in a number of Maaori management and law networks, and is a current executive member of Te Huinga Roia Maaori o Aotearoa (Maaori Law Society). Ashleigh is responsible for developing and progressing investment opportunities related to the health and wellbeing of the Waikato River.
Ngaati Wairere, Ngaati Mahuta – Taupiri Marae
Johnine has over 25 years’ experience in community, social and iwi development. Previously she was the Manager of Raahui Pookeka Maatua Whaangai Justice before going on to oversee the delivery of central and local government collaborative initiatives while employed by the Waikato District Council. Prior to joining the River Trust, Johnine worked with the tribe’s Tribal Development Unit.
Junior Project Analyst
Ngaati Maniapoto, Ngaati Ngutu – Raakaunui Marae, Ngaa Hau E Whaa Marae
Joanna joined the Waikato Raupatu River Trust in 2012 as a receptionist. In 2015, she took on the role of Junior Project Analyst and will be integral to supporting marketing and promotional activities that highlight the work of the Trust. Her role also involves strengthening the connectivity between tribal members and the Trust.
